I just realized that I haven't written a journal for a REALLY long time now. It's been...five months? Jeez. A lot of stuff has gone on in the last few months.
First, and probably most important, I came to terms with my sexuality and came out to the school, and a lot of my cousins. Still working on finding the right moment to tell my parents that their daughter is bisexual, though.
Second, I've started teaching drum lessons to earn a bit of money so I can actually pay for my cell phone bill. I only have one student right now, but it's ten dollars a week I didn't have before, and I know there are some other people looking for a teacher.
Third, I've fallen in love with comics again. I've been in a bit of a comic slump for a year now, with a) no series I was well and truly interested in reading, and b) the belief that comics were for little kids and couldn't be sophisticated (as a gamer, I should have never forgotten this--one of the biggest misconceptions that non-gaming parents have is that all video games your child will ever buy are going to be either Call of Duty, or violent and crude, like GTA, and that there are no thought-provoking, artful, insightful video games...but that's an entirely different topic). The series that rekindled my love for comics (forgive the sappiness of that last bit) was Neil Gaiman's "The Sandman", a Christmas gift from my cousin.
Fourth, I'm no longer Catholic, due to the church's stance on homosexuality, and the Pope calling us a "threat to no less that the entire human race". I've opted for a religion that's a little more gay-friendly, called Asatruism.
And lastly, I have become what is known as a Slender Fan, a fan of the Slender Man mythos, the only thing to ever truly scare me out of my seat (other Creepy Pasta comes close, however). This has resulted in an Operator Symbol necklace, my very own Slender Blog (no followers and no views besides my own, baby!), and sleeping with the lights on.
So yeah. That's what's been goin' on lately.
